Privacy Policy

This notice describes how Guia Municipio treats personal information on this insurance website and in the protection work that follows an enquiry.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Guia Municipio handles personal information when you read guiamunicipio.com, complete a form, join or leave the email list, or write to care@guiamunicipio.com. We designed the public site so that quotation, contact, subscribe, unsubscribe, and chat forms run in your browser and display a confirmation after they pass validation.

We respect the difference between a marketing page and a policy file. A schedule and a claim contain more sensitive detail than a website enquiry, and we treat them with corresponding care once they exist in our records.

2. Who this notice covers

This notice covers visitors, people who request a quotation or a callback, mailing-list subscribers, and holders who correspond with the care desk. It also covers people named on an application with their knowledge, such as a spouse, a driver, or a beneficiary.

If you give us information about another adult, you confirm that you have their permission. Information about a child should be provided only by a parent or guardian for a genuine protection purpose.

3. Information you choose to give

Contact and quotation forms ask for your name, email address, phone number, city or region, the cover you are interested in, a message, and a confirmation that we may reply. Subscribe asks for a name, email, the topics you want, and consent. Unsubscribe asks for the email address to remove and a confirmation.

Please do not send full identity numbers, full medical files, or card numbers through the first website note. A guide will request only the documents a real application or an open claim needs, and will tell you the safest way to send them.

Because these forms are client-side, the entries are checked on your device. A short copy of a successful check may be kept in your browser’s local storage under a site key so the retrieve option can find a quote on that same device. You can clear that storage in your browser settings.

4. Information collected automatically

A static website like this one does not require an account and does not run a tracking pixel of our own. Your browser may still record ordinary technical data such as the address of the page, the time of the visit, and a basic device type in server logs kept by the company that hosts the files. Those logs are used to keep the site available and to investigate abuse.

If you follow a share link to a social network, that network receives the fact that you chose to share, under its own policy. We do not receive your social password.

5. How we use information

When you email us, or when a working intake path delivers a form to the desk, we use the details to answer you, to prepare a quotation, to place or administer cover you ask for, to guide a claim, to send the emails you subscribed to, and to stop emails you unsubscribe from.

We also use correspondence to improve our explanations, to train guides on clarity, and to detect fraud or scam messages that misuse our name. We do not sell personal information. We do not use it to build a secret score for unrelated marketing.

6. Bases for using information

Depending on the situation, we rely on one or more of the following: your consent, for example when you join the mailing list; steps you ask us to take before a contract, such as preparing a quotation; performance of a policy; a legal duty such as record-keeping required for an insurance placement; and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, securing the site, and explaining cover honestly.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it. Withdrawal does not undo a contract that was already formed, and it does not erase records we must keep. Where we rely on legitimate interest, you may object, and we will consider whether your situation outweighs that interest.

7. Quotations and applications

A quotation file can include the facts needed to approach an insurer: who is to be covered, the property or vehicle, the trip, the business activity, previous losses you tell us about, and health information if the benefit needs it. Insurers and their underwriters use that information to decide whether to offer cover and at what premium.

If you do not want to provide a fact that is necessary, we may be unable to obtain an offer. We will say which fact is blocking progress rather than collecting everything imaginable.

8. Claims support

A claim can involve loss details, repair invoices, photographs of damage, medical information relevant to a health or travel claim, and the names of other people involved. We use this information to notify the contract, to assemble a complete file, and to explain the outcome. We ask third parties such as a workshop or a clinic only for what the claim needs.

You should send medical detail only when it relates to the benefit you are claiming. We restrict that material to the people working on the file.

9. Marketing and the mailing list

We send protection notes only to people who subscribe, or to holders where the message is a service message about their own policy. Service messages include quotations you asked for, renewal comparisons, and claim updates. Those are not advertising, and unsubscribing from the newsletter does not stop them.

The subscribe page records your topics of interest so we can keep notes relevant. You may unsubscribe at any time on the unsubscribe page or by emailing care@guiamunicipio.com with the word unsubscribe. We aim to honour a clear request promptly.

10. Who we share information with

We share information with insurers and their authorised agents when you ask us to seek or administer cover, with repairers or clinicians when you ask us to progress a claim, with professional advisers who are bound to confidentiality, and with hosting or email providers who process data only on our instructions.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, or if it is necessary to protect a person from serious harm, or to investigate fraud. We do not share mailing-list addresses with list brokers.

11. How long we keep information

Browser storage from a client-side form remains until you clear it. Email you send us is kept for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you write again.

Policy and claim records are kept for the life of the contract and for a further period that lets us answer a late query, meet a legal retention duty, or defend a complaint. When that period ends we delete or irreversibly anonymise the record unless a specific file must be held longer.

12. Security

We use access limits, careful email handling, and staff training to protect holder files. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure. Please use a current browser, be cautious with shared computers, and tell us promptly if you believe your correspondence with the desk has been misused.

We will never ask you to pay a premium into a private person’s account or to reveal a one-time passcode. Messages of that kind are not from us.

13. Your choices and requests

Subject to applicable law, you may ask for a copy of the personal information we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are allowed to, ask us to restrict or object to certain uses, and ask for portability where that right exists. You may also complain to a supervisory authority that has jurisdiction over your situation.

Write to care@guiamunicipio.com with the request and enough detail for us to find the file. We may need to confirm you are the person the file is about before we release it. We will explain if a law requires us to keep something you asked us to delete, such as a placed policy record.

14. Children

This website is written for adults arranging protection. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. If you believe a child has sent us a note, email the care desk and we will delete what we are not required to keep.

15. Local storage and similar tools

The quotation script may save your checked form in local storage on your device. That is not a cookie set for advertising. It exists so a later visit on the same browser can retrieve what you typed. You can remove it by clearing site data. We do not use that storage to follow you across other websites.

16. Visitors in different places

People read this site from many places. If a rule in your place gives you a stronger right than this notice describes, that stronger right still applies to you. We do not claim that one territory’s statute is the only one that matters, and we do not route your information to a named country on this page. When a policy is issued, the insurer on that contract may process information where it is authorised to operate, and the schedule or proposal will identify that insurer.

17. Changes to this policy

We will post updates on this page. If we change how we use holder information in a way you would not expect, we will also send a note to the email address we hold, where we are permitted to write. The date you should rely on is the date of the page you are reading.

18. How to reach us about privacy

Privacy questions, subscribe requests, and unsubscribe requests can be sent to care@guiamunicipio.com. Please use a subject line such as “Privacy request”, “Subscribe”, or “Unsubscribe” so the desk can route it. We do not ask you to call a published number or to visit a published street address, because this site does not provide either.

If your message concerns an open claim, include your policy number if you have one, but do not include full identity document numbers unless we have asked for a specific document.
